The Newest Digital Technology now on Both Coasts

Last week BurdgeCooper installed two Xerox Color 1000 Presses, one in our Atlanta facility the other in Los Angeles. The installation of identical Xerox presses on both coasts allows us to offer national accounts the ability to produce and ship the same document(s) from one company in two time zones.

The Xerox Color 1000 press utilizes the latest, most advanced, technology from the engineers that invented the industry. These presses are renowned for their ability to produce outstanding midtones, gradients, detailed shadows and photos.

The most unique feature is the ability to use a fifth color station that lets us apply a clear effect. Think spot UV on offset or clear foil over printed products and you get the idea of what Clear Dry Ink looks like. We are now able to create a subtle watermark effect of add an element of security. With Clear Dry Ink we can highlight images for visual variety to make them pop off the page, draw attention to a headline or variable text, enhance photos, logos, or variable images, simulate pearlescent or metallic appearances.

Using low melt, Emulsion Aggregation Dry Ink and new fusing technology these presses bring a wider color gamut and can run, and duplex, stocks up to 140# cover. Emulsion Aggregation Dry Ink technology uses no fuser oil, giving all products a smooth offset-like finish. Because of the unique properties of Dry Ink this is also one of the most Environmentally Friendly toner based systems available today. Also new is the Automated Color Quality Suite, a set of color management tools, delivering Full Width Array technology for high quality color printing.

As with recent generations of digital color print technology, the 1000 excels at VDP (variable data printing) even as it enables finer micro printing for security applications.
